Eastman Exports Achieves Milestone with SBTi Approval of Scope 1, 2 & 3 Near Term Targets

At Eastman Exports, sustainability is at the core of everything we do. We recognize the urgent need to address climate change and its impacts on the planet, people, and prosperity. We have achieved a significant milestone in our Sustainability journey in receiving approval from the Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi) for our Scope 1, 2, and 3 near-term targets. This achievement marks a crucial step forward in our commitment to combatting climate change and fostering environmental stewardship.

Our Commitment to sustainability:

By setting science-based targets across all three scopes, we are aligning our emissions reduction efforts with the latest climate science. This ensures that our goals are ambitious, achievable, and contribute to the global effort to limit global warming to 1.5°C and well below 2°C above pre-industrial levels, as outlined in the Paris Agreement.

Eastman Exports Global Clothing Private Limited commits to reduce absolute Scope 1 & 2 GHG emissions 45% by FY2030 from a FY2020 base year*.
Eastman Exports Global Clothing Private Limited commits to reduce absolute Scope 3 GHG emissions 25% within the same timeframe*.
*The Target boundary includes biogenic land-related emissions and removals from bioenergy feed stocks.

Our GHG Inventory:

By setting ambitious targets for reducing our greenhouse gas emissions, we are demonstrating our dedication to operating in a more sustainable and responsible manner.

Scope 1 & 2 Emission:

*Scope 1 emissions refer to direct greenhouse gas emissions from sources that are owned or controlled by the company, such as onsite fuel combustion or vehicle fleets. Scope 2 emissions encompass indirect emissions from the generation of purchased electricity.

Scope 3 Emission:

* Scope 3 emissions include all other indirect emissions that occur in the company's value chain, including transportation, waste disposal, and employee commuting
